EU Officials Decry US Action as ‘Intimidation’

Officials from Europe including Emmanuel Macron accused Washington of “coercion and intimidation”, after the visa restrictions targeted figures who have been central to efforts to enact legislation governing US-based technology firms.

“For far too long, ideologues in Europe have led coordinated campaigns to coerce American platforms to punish US perspectives they disagree with,” wrote a senior US official in a social media post. “The current administration will no longer tolerate such actions of extraterritorial censorship.”
