Cars in Germany's Town Discovered Marked with Swastikas in Human Blood, Law Enforcement State

Authorities reported they were alerted by a resident who noticed a car in Hanau marked with red-colored fluid

Approximately 50 vehicles have been smeared with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the German town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, according to authorities.

Automobiles, building surfaces and postal boxes were marked, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they announced in a statement.

Law enforcement say they were contacted during the night on Wednesday evening, when a resident discovered that a car in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued fluid.

The substance had been applied in the shape of a swastika, they reported.

Officers then found numerous other marked vehicles and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.

Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under regulations outlawing the public display of Nazi-era symbols.

Police state early analysis indicate the liquid was likely blood from a person.

"At present there remains no lead as to its source; authorities are not yet aware of any physical harm in association with the occurrence," they added.

Local authorities announced they were trying "to resolve the incident" and have requested to the residents for information.

An important political figure stated the vandalism rendered him without words and had to be resolved promptly.

"This act strikes at the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the far-right violent incident in 2020," he posted on online, recalling the death of nine individuals by a shooter targeting individuals of immigrant origin in February 2020.
